Lyn will speak about how we might respond as a community to a tragedy of this nature. She will give some insights into how to care for children and adolescents as they try to make sense of what has happened. Mitchell Brown, a psychologist with many years of experience in the field of trauma, will offer insights into how to care for yourself after experiencing a traumatic event. There will be opportunity to ask questions and have them addressed by Lyn and her team, as well as suggested activities as a way forward in grieving and healing.
The night is not suitable for children but will benefit adults and teenagers.
Venue: All Saints Anglican Church, 295 Malton Road, North Epping
Time: Tuesday 21st July @ 8.00pm

Here are two articles which are also helpful - Trauma and Children is useful for parents, and Helping yourself after a traumatic event gives advice for anyone who has been impacted by trauma.
Finally, here is a document which outlines how adolescents and children respond to trauma and how their families can help them. This document is from the USA so the organisations/contacts listed are not relevant - however, it has some excellent information and guidance for parents. Click here to download.
